Katie sat down at her first editing station when she was 16 years old, and from that point forward she was hooked. She reveled in the isolation of the editing studio, the romance of being alone with the footage, and collaborating with other creative people. Her passion propelled her to earn a BFA in Editing and Sound from The North Carolina School of the Arts.

Katie has applied her fastidious skills to nearly every genre of film and television editing. In addition to episodic work on programs such as The MTV DESI Top 10 Desi Countdown and Jim Knox’s Wild Zoofari (PBS) she has also assisted on national commercials for household brand names like Jeep Wrangler and Blistex, and cut several international commercials for Saturn, a European electronic store. Her credits also include music videos for local New York City bands, performing arts presentations, and independent film projects.

Her most recent narrative work is the short film More Abandon (www.moreabandon.com), co-written by Brett Haley and international best-selling author Joshua Ferris (“Then We Came To The End,” Little Brown and Company, 2007). More Abandon is an Official Selection at the Miami and Pensacola International Film Festival.
